buy a used Honda Accord 1990 and up, these have proven very reliable I have one with 280k , I know of others w/ 500kThese cars if maintained are very good and require little maintenance except for usual stuff like oil changes, brakes, timing belts, (replace once every 90k ) ect.. many are on the market and parts are easy to find,

dont buy a sports car, a honda or acura. insurance is ridiculous. dont buy a car older than 8 years, or newer than 2. No full size trucks/suvs, and no cars over 20,000. Unless you're rich.

Have a good mechanic check it over completely. How old are the tires? Was it ever in an accident? How many previous owners?Test drive it with the radio off.. and listen for any noise.Take it on open road and see how it handles at 65 mpg and how it handles at 25 mph.Test the brakes.

-Low mileage-Take into considerate the number of previous owners and if possible... the aproximate age of them.(Younger drivers usually tend to treat vehicles poorly)-Get it looked at by a mechanic before you buy to make sure there is nothing wrong with it.Good luck!

Check for water damage. Could have been a flood.Take some with you that knows cars--then test drive it.Be sure you get the Certificate of Title.Make sure you have insurance in force before driving.Watch interest charges. If you pay cash--use a check.
