Default vauxhall vectra?

vauxhall vectra 2 ltr sri 16 valve 1997.when i put me foot down in third gear the speed increases in sort stages why is this.

Well done Maxwell-its all in the servicing!Maintenance costs less than repairs but many do not bother.....WHY?

The accelerator is 'fly by wire' and opens the throttle by a motor drive. It's sticking. WD 40 and then oil but also check it's then free.RoyS

Your throttle is getting stuck I imagine.Clean out the housing with WD40.Make sure it's moving freely.If not that then you may have a faulty TPS sensor.Good luck!
