muscle cars here.. grew up in the 60's and 70's, and it was music to my ears to hear my dad start up our various cars over the years... 65 Mustang, 68 Firebird 400, 70 Chevelle SS396, 71 Nova SS396. I myself grew fond of the SVT Mustangs, and have owned a few over the years.

Until you have driven a Big Block Chevelle or Vette, you do not know what you miss.Yes, the new cars are faster, turn and stop better, quieter, safer, but give me a big block any time. There was something about being able to Feel EVERY EXPLOSION!!

I do not like Muscle cars. Only their 1/4 mile times are good. Their 0-60 time is bad. They are heavy and boxy cars. They are not aerodynamic. They are huge cars. There handling is very bad. there gas mileage and reliability is also bad. And they have small top speeds. The fastest American Muscle car is the current Dodge Charger SRT-8 and Chysler 300c SRT-8 and Dodge Magnum SRT-8 with a top speed of 170mphPontiac GTO and the 2002 Chevy Camaro both have a top speed of 160mph.Mustang GT does it in 146mph.Mustang GT500 does it in 155mph.While Sportcars built for real racing are much faster with half the power.Porsche Cayman S with a 6 cylinder engine with 295HP goes up to 171mph. It has less power than the Mustang GT and all other newer Muscle cars, but it goes much faster.
