My 1999 Saturn L series will not start it started sounding like it was not getting enough gas now it will not?
If you have a friend who works on their own car, then have he or she help you do a spark test. First you go to the auto store and buy a spark tester. Get the kind that looks like a normal spark plug but has an alligator clip attached to the metal base for clamping to a metal ground point on your engine. Then disconnect one of your spark plug wires being careful to grasp the boot and not to pull the boot off by the wire because that could damage the plug wire. Hook that wire to your spark plug tester you have clamped to the engine and have your friend check for a spark in the tester's electrode gap while you crank the engine. Be careful because the engine may start up even though you only crank the engine for 10 seconds or so to see if the spark is present or not. The spark should look bluish and not yellowish. If you have good spark, then you could check for fuel and I'll tell you how to do that in the next segment of your Answers (part II).PS, Don't touch anything in the engine compartment if your friend cranks the engine for you to see the spark, and make sure they can see your hand signal to stop cranking in case of an accident or other problem. Also, this all assumes you have spark plug wires and not a coil over plug design like many newer cars have.
