Default Hybrid Car - to Buy or Not to Buy?

Guys,
Recently I wrote an article "[Only registered users with more than 5 posts can see links. ]".
As for me, I'm sure that's it's too early to purchase a hybrid vehicle. And frankly speaking, I'm afraid of such cars
What do you think? Are you ready to buy a hybrid?

Well, most people back out because hybrid cars are still somewhat expensive because only a few are released for the public.

But, if hybrid cars are like our ordinary cars then, the price would be cheaper and I don't think that anyone will back out in buying one.

And if that happens, ordinary cars would be more expensive because of their impracticality and threat to nature. That will happen if hybrid cars rule the roads in the future.

In my opinion, hybrid technology is not really new anymore. The Insight came out in 2000. The Prius in 2001. There's quite a few on the market now (in major areas). There are no super-cheap hybrids, but the Prius is not really that expensive. It's base cost is around $21,000.

I still chose the second option because the hybrid I want will not be out for another year (3rd Gen. Prius) and even then I wouldn't buy it the inaugural year. Give them some time to work the bugs out. (Or, alternatively, do buy next year but save $$$ on an new '08 model.)

They even have hybrid SUVs now, but they are extremely expensive. $54,000 for a hybrid Yukon? OUCH! When it comes to larger vehicles, they really do need to work on bringing the costs (on all of them, not just hybrids) way down.
