And what will happen if while driving thru the rain, lightning hit my vehilce. Also, is it true that the bigger or taller the vehicle , the safer it is from a lightning ???

Of course it is safe to drive down the road during a storm. Lightining wont hit your vehicle because of the rubber tires. You are pretty safe in your vehicle.

Depends on how comfortable you are in the car you're driving. I've driven through thunderstorms, but I don't like driving in heavy rain, but my husband doesn't mind it.Because of the rubber on the tires you should be safe in the car if it was hit during an electrical storm. Not sure if it would mess up anything on the car.

The biggest danger is hitting something if vision is obscured by heavy rain. It is not dangerous to be sitting in a car during a thunderstorm; the car acts as what is called a Faraday shield, and will conduct electricity to ground without harming the occupants.

The road conditions will be worse, and tires will not have as much traction. Watch out for puddles, because your car may hydroplane, meaning it will skim across the top of the water instead of through it, making it impossible to control. As to lightning, you are safe. Even if lightning does strike the vehicle, which is quite rare, the electricity will just pass through the frame and leave the people inside unharmed. Lighting is attracted to taller objects, such as trees, power lines, skyscrapers, etc., so a taller vehicle would be more likely to be struck by lightning than a shorter one.

Depends on your driving skills. As some have mentioned-wet conditions can be hazzardous.Lighting-while it does not ususlly hit cars "while driving" it does now and then. Your tires do protect you unless you happen to be holding onto a piece of metal in your car. The electrical system can and will short out causing you to lose control of the car/truck, so be careful if you "really need" to be driving in the rain.

If you are comfortable with it, it is safe. You have to drive a safe speed for the conditions and be careful of hydroplaning. Lightning could hit your car, but it would be safe if it did because your tires are made of rubber so the electricity would be grounded. If your veichle is bigger or smaller. If it is bigger it could be slightly more likely to be struck but it is such a small difference that it will not matter much.

it is safe as long as you drive careful and your car is grounded by your tires,as long as you do not touch any metal during the storm,,
