I park outdoors and every winter I have to spend at least 5 minutes scraping snow and ice off my car. I need some ideas on how to protect your car windows from freezing up overnight. For example, I thought about using a car cover to keep ice off the windows, but it is a big chore to put it over the car by yourself every night. If anyone has any easier ideas or tricks, please help me out. Thanks!

A towel or sheet work good. You can anchor them with magnets or slam in doors.If you can park somewhere where there is a constant breeze you won't have the freezing up problem at all with ice. As far as the snow, park UNDERNEATH something.

move to florida. that's what i did. They sell de-icer at autozone. pour hot water on windows, you'll still have to scrape, but it'll be about 90 seconds instead of 5 minutes. You can put up a carport tent. It's a piece of tarp with some 6 foot poles, you put it up where you'd park your car. hope that helps

get an remote starter. make sure your heat and defrosters are on. start car. wait. enter car when nice warm and defrosted.

Get a garage !! LOL, Seriously start your car up early and don't scarpe, also u can get windshield wash that helps with ice it cost more but I buy it well worth the money, and u can also buy something that goes over your windshield to protect it then u take it off in the morning you can buy those at a place where they sell parts for cars.. If you can access it with an extension cord then a small, thermostatically controlled electric heater left in side and wired so the cord can be plugged in at the grill will keep the interior above freezing and the windows clear. Just have to play with the thermostat so the heater just holds the interior temp around 35-40 degrees so the windows don't ice up.

one of those windshield covers for the heat in your car could be tucked under your wipers outside. they're a little sturdier than a towel and cardboard and will hold up to freezing and getting wet. and most have a smooth outside so cleaning them off is easy. plus they fold up nicely to throw in the car. plus you can use wiper fluid that has added stuf to melt the snow off windows. also if you have everything set to defrost when you shut off your car at night, it won't hurt to start it a few minutes before you leaves to help it warm up. and then your windshield should be defrost by the time you head out, and your oil and other fluids will be warmed up before you start accelerating, thus less wear and tear on your vehicle.

i keep my car in a garage, and it also has an auto-start. i find myself laughing at people scraping their windows or having snow covered cars lol. the only time my car has a chance to get any precipitation on it is driving, or being somewhere other than home for long periods of time, which is where the auto-start comes in handy. if you buy one, make sure to keep your heat set to defrost on high, then when you get out there everything is warmed up and ready to go. on my auto-start (AstroStart) i can set the amount of time i want the car to run before it shuts off, its like 5, 15, 30, or 45 minutes. its also combination keyless entry w/trunk release & panic.

Get one of those heated washer fluid gadgets. Works very well.
