since youre "a woman who doesnt know anything about cars" ill tell you what you need to know to avoid this in the future.buy a honda or a toyota, they last much longer and wont crap out on you like american cars tend to do. if the warrantee has expired on the car you bought, theres really nothing you can do. an 8 year old dodge is just getting ready to start breaking down and costing you money.sell it, and get a civic or a corolla. you wont be disappointed.

You don't say what state you live in. Some states have the lemon law. That dealership sucks big time.I would definitely go after them.

Your intrepid has an in-tank fuel pump problem that will leave you stranded at the most inoportune time... it will run for days and not have a problem then all of a sudden... dead on side of the road.... to be sure this is the problem take along a small rubber hammer and an old small rug to lie on and tap gently under the center of the plastic fuel tank several times and then simply start the car and go on... if this happens then have the in tank fuel pump replaced... good luck

Try talking to the district rep from the factory. Also, write some letters to Ford itself and if you haven't done so, talk to the senior manager and if possible, the actual owner of your dealership. Be persistent, but polite, it will get you further than yelling or cussing will. Been there, done that.Good luck
