I have a 00 Civic - with 150+ miles on it. Love it. Now, I am out of college, married with a baby..and I need to move up to a vehicle with more space. The reviews on the CRVs arent as good as the Civic- I am reading things like, "The CRV isnt as reliable as the rest of the Honda family" and the reviews have been mixed. Are there any stellar reviews out there? Is the CRV representative of Honda? What's the deal? I am also looking at the Mazda CX7 or Ford Edge. Please help me decide!

I have the 07 CRV and an 18 month old. It is very spacious and so far has been extremely reliable (I have had it for 10 months). My only complaint would be that there is not much storage in the center console unless you get the top of the line model. The two lesser models have tray that fold down against the passenger seat which is quite cool but it means there is no depth to the tray and so not much storage space (although there is the double glove compartment but thats not easy to get to whilst driving). Other than that I love it.

If you are looking for a car that will give you 150K of service, CRV will do it for you. Personally, I would keep that Honda Civic and drive another 150K miles.Yes, CRV isn't as reliable as Civic. But is reliable enough. Also they changed the car in 07, so you got to give it few years before the reliability can be proven. The previous generation of CRV had problem with valve gaps tightening up. if valves gaps are not adjusted every 60K, it trashes the cylinder head time to time.
