What's a good first car?
First car - get the cheapest reliable motor you can afford, with low insurance costs. Recommend that you do not go near dealers. I'd recommend something at the end of it's manufacturer's warranty so you're not tied to a dealer for service. Find yourself a local garage who'll do maintenance, MOTs and service at good rates, so buy a "simple" car. For insurance cost purposes usually the smaller the engine the less the cost. So a 1.0L Corsa would be a good buy. But so are Citroen C1 / C2 / Saxo, Peugeot 106/7 Skoda Fabia / VW Polo / Seat Arosa / Ibiza and Renault Clio. Fiestas and Corsas usually attract a price premium 'cos they're so popular. Take your time, look at the What Car website and check out the owners blogs - First Car for me VW Lupo / Seat Arosa 1.0 / Citroen C1 / Mazda 1 ~ Hope I helped!!
