Default How do I wash my brand new car?

I don't want to hand wash my car, since I rarely have the time while the sun is out, and I don't want to take it to an automatic cleaner's at some gas station, since I've heard they cause scratches. I live close to a Superstation, which is a hand-washing place, so I'm considering going there to get it washed and waxed. Is this a bad idea? It's a 2008 baby/metallic blue Scion tC.

Wash it by hand and wax it yourself. Carefully!

The best places to get your car washed are backed by a company called Blue Coral. I am a car Salesman and I have never had a problem with them. Look for them. Also you might try checking with your dealer to see what prices are like there for a detail or wash and clean. Dependant on what type of car you bought, you might not have to wax but once every three months.

If they're hand washing then i say go for it, but keep a close eye on them just in case they dont miss any spots (since its your new car)Or if you're not confertable with strangers washing a new car then ask a friend or family.maybe even a neighbor friend hope this helps make up your mind =D

See if there is a brush-less car wash in your area. Instead of brushes slapping upside your car, all it uses is high pressure water and soap. It does a nice job and doesn't scratch the paint. Most of them have jets that spray the underside of the car to rid the residue, which is especially important if you live in a snow belt region.

Watch how they do it at the Superstation. Ask questions with other customers and the price. If you're happy with what you see and the price, go for it. I'm 76 and I prefer to hand wash and polish my recent new car purchase.

Do it at an automatic carwash that doesn't have any brushes. As far as the small scratches (also know as "spider web scratches") don't worry too much about them because you can't see them too well because of the color of your car. Good decision on the color. Good luck. Enjoy it!
