Default Getting your car detailed-- worth it?

I think it would be but what all does it entail? This is what I can do myself:Wash and wax the outside, shop vac the interior, scrub the seats down, armorall the interior, rain-x in my windshield wiper fluid, windex windows inside and out, and then hang up a nice pine tree air freshener lolWhat do they do that I can't do on my own? Do they have special equipment, or premium products not available to the average joe? Another thing-- I have some stains on my backseat, chocolate milk, and crusted on carpet powder. Can they remove those, or can I do it myself? I'm just trying to figure out whats more precious to me, a couple hours of my time, or $75. . . .

You can do it. It's just for lazy people.

they will use a power buffer, it will get most of the swirl marks out out paint, if they do inside they can steam clean most stains and stuff out

Detailing a car is overrated. You can go to almost any store that has an Auto department and pick up things to make your car look, smell, and feel brand new.

If you can have your car detailed for $75. go for it. Otherwise get yourself some upholstery shampoo; carpet cleaner; toothbrush and vacuum brush (for clearing the vents); Maguires Paint Clearner (#1), Polish (#2), Wax (#3); auto shampoo and a good chamois. Start from the inside and work you way out. It'll probably take you the better part of a day - with the stains and crusties it might take you the weekend.

i used to wash cars on weekends in puerto rico and for a premium detail i charge 125i take out the 4 rims of the car and wash the fenders, wash the complete rim the inner part and out side, if the rims are chrome... polish themthe back of the car where the muffler is, also wash all that under it, if the muffler is chrome also polish it toowash the engine and when is get dry spray wd40 all over it so it look shinywhen you open the door all those parts that usually get a lot of dirt but no one cleans..... well make that looks like new again that is the hardest part i guess because you cant use pressure washer machine there only with your hands i got a special machine to give shampoo to the seats and that thing will take the stains from carpet, also take out all the seats and vacumm and shampoo themthe a/c vents clean them with a large-smoot brushfor the out side wax the car with an electric 6" buffer the wipe off and wax it again with zymol and with your hands, no electric buffer armor all everywhere, fenders, differential, inside, and of course nice pine tree air freshener

A detailer will clean all the interior and exterior surfaces of your car. He will wash the car thoroughly, clay the paint surface then do paint correction, buffing out all the swirls and scratches in your paint with an orbital buffer and professional compounds and polishes. He will apply a wax or sealer to your paint. He will clean your carpets and cloth upholstery with a heated carpet extractor. Most shops have a menu with different levels of detail that you can choose from depending on your needs / budget. Trained professionals using professional products and professional equipment. Beware though, you get what you pay for. Go cheap and you'll get a job that you could have done in your own driveway with the stuff you already have in it.
