I have a 97 Avenger that has cloudy headlights diminishing my night time visibility. Any suggestions on how to remove the "film"? It's on the outside, no moisture on the inside. I'd prefer to not replace them... the car is 10 years old and I'd rather not put any more money into it then it's worth.

use a half and half mixture of wate and white vinegar. if you could take em out to soak that would make em look like new but just use a foam spray bottle to spray on them and wash your car like usual. the grit and cloudiness just dissapears. dont know why but it worked on my dodge stratus. people swear i got new headlight fixtures

Did this with my car a couple months ago. The "Haze" is caused my oxidation. You just need to get any type of oxidation remover, and you'll be fine - works like a charm.MooCowMan recommened PlastX - this happens to be the de-oxidizer I used and it does work well.
