You want to go here:www.policeauctions.comYou have to at least pay $7.95 for a month worth of access, but you can sign up and browse some of it for free. There are NO legitimate police auction sites that are non-pay. And this one is the number one site nationally.I have been using them for years.

It depends on your location.I also know that there are allot of police departments that have made agreements with EBay... I know that Toronto has for sure.Good luck.

My area does everything through the county. I go to the county web-site and they have their on-line auction listed. Items run for a month and the highest bidder gets it. You can go on a certain day to visually check the item you are interested in. There are a lot of areas out there doing things this way. Just verify ahead of time that the car you are interested in has a clear title. I was bidding on a motorcycle and later found out it was a recovered stolen vehicle with no keys or title.
