Default Have you ever bought a car from eBay?

Have you ever bid and won a car on eBay auction? How did the selling process go? Did you like the car when you saw it for real, was it as described etc? Please, don't post answers like "no, I'm sorry". Answer if you really have something to say in regards to my question. I really appreciate it!

I would suggest that you do not buy a car from eBay, as your research seems to be weak. There is a great deal less risk buying local, such as Craigslist. As the eBay radio ads say; read the seller's feedback, ask the sellers for references. If they are a licensed dealer, telephone thier local BBB. And much more.A friend of mine bought a Lincoln Mk8 from Florida (he is in MN) that he has is very happy with. He did a great deal of research on both the seller and the car before bidding.

HiI have bought 3 cars on eBay and sold 4.As the adverts say, check the sellers feedback etc.More importantly, go for the listings with lots of photo's and what appears to be an over-truthfull listing (the ones that include full details of every nick, scratch & blemish).Simularly, if the listing seems "to good to be true" then be aware also.If the car is close enough, ask the seller if you can see the car before you bid, if the seller say's no then they probably have something to hide. Some sellers ask for a deposit via Paypal, while this is not a bad sign, I have never paid a deposit but have collected the car within 2 or 3 days and paid cash.If you've already paid and the car is not as advertised, you'll have trouble getting your money back.If the car is worth a lot of money it might be worth getting an independent car check done before you buy (any genuine seller won't object), you can also get a vehicle safety report search done (HPI and the like), eBay support HPI and have a good price for this (see link- http://pages.ebay.co.uk/motors/services/vsr/ ).When selling, I have always found it best to be brutaly honest. Amazingly, this doesn't seem to put people off either.Hope that helps.Danny
