Default Rover 800 Diagnostics?

Does anyone know what kind of coms cable is needed to connect up to a 1997 Rover 800 Sterling? There is a little grey connector in the drivers foot well but I haven't a clue what kind of communications bus it uses?I really need this to extract the emergency key code from the CCU to get my key fobs working. Does anyone have any information that may be of use?Thank you!
